| Requirement is for a Technicians to provide on-site inspection, monitoring and management of the Leachate field pumping systems. Field Pump Management to includes system inspection and checking of critical pumps, undertaking regular leachate level dipping of all chambers and basic pump cleaning and maintenance. The Technician will be responsible for liaising with the Site and Regional Leachate Manager to arrange for Specialist Contractor works on the field systems and minor pipework moves and repairs. It is intended that the Technician will be capable of providing cover, with support from Leachate Department, for leave and absence and also to share weekend cover duties at any relevant LTP’s. The Technicians should be capable of thinking for themselves and have a logical approach to problem solving and be able to follow instructions and deal with onsite chemical test kits. Responsibilities will also include undertaking elements of the on-going preventative maintenance programme at the LTP. Key responsibilities will be; • Daily checking of pump operation and status, inspection of field systems. • Twice weekly monitoring of leachate levels throughout the site. • Reporting of leachate levels to a database. • Removal, cleaning and re-installation of field pumps. • Movement and minor repairs to pipework. • Assistance of Specialist Contractor on specific installation and remedial works. Due to the continuous nature of the operation of many of the systems associated with the pumping, storage and treatment of leachate there will be occasions when out of hours and unusual hours of work will be unavoidable. In the case of an LTP this may include some weekend working. In addition, although not required to be 24/7 ‘on-call’ many leachate related systems are fitted with auto-dial out systems that may call Managers at any time of day. These calls, along with other out of hours queries and requests relating to leachate systems, will be directed to the Leachate Team on occasion. |
